Explicitely ask about a dragonborn with an Eladrin servant.
Yeah throw Skull in fire and tell him “Now whose burned?”.
And how do we even know what we’re specifically searching for, we have no firsthand proof of what our enemy is. Heck we don’t even know why we’ve joined up in the first place.
ask the skull politly what the password is
Decide that the skull’s password is probably the last thing we’re going to guess via plot device, so next.
Search about other factions, there are clearly more races

i still say that there are grues watching you. it is dark.
Watch your back, I feel that a random encoutner is near.
Cast sex change on everyone (including the skull), then hide until they wake up.
Threaten to start guessing the password again and read up on some non mage subclasses.
Also keep in mind that you must find the other 2 rulebooks to gain more information about the other groups of races.

out of mass paranoia that the spy is watching you right now, cast inferno into the darkness out of while insanely laughing. Try your best to not wake up the party though

Ask the skull why it is so small compared to the size of everyone’s head.
