ask to help them re-vegitate if you remove his curses.
assure him you will vegitate lost forests after you remove your curses
Ask him to help remove the curses so you can help him, the random magic one first, as you need reliable magic in case it gets ugly.
Then go negotiate/fight the Eladrin.
If necessary demonstrate the current uselessness of your magic by atempting to cast liquify on a nearby rock or stick (nothing alive (especially plants)).
Ask him why the eladrin are cutting down trees.
Promise to help regrow the deforested area if your magic is returned to normal.
Ask him to remove the curses, accept the quest to stop the Eldarin, or at least see what they’re up to. Also do something stupid.
Look for your house anyway.
Ask him what he thinks of the second sun.
Tell him you’ll help if he get’s rid of that curse you have.

Decide to help the poor tree…man…thing.
Decide to help, if he will remove the curse(s) in exchange.
Ask him if you can cut off one of his limbs for EXP, seriously, you need to level up.
Request removal of curse(s) in exchange for your help.

Begin Lord Of The Rings type sidequest.
Offer to help them if they can get rid of that curse above your head, and mention that you would do it for free if not for the fact that the curse randomizes your spells and many of them would do more harm than good.
